08 Mar International award nominations

Seychellois-owned Denis Island is once again in contention for three potential World Luxury Hotel Awards, the hotel has announced.
The small coralline island to the north of the main inner island archipelago – with its 25 private cottages, farm-to-table dining concept and vibrant sustainability and conservation programmes – has been nominated for awards in three categories:
Best Scenic Environment, Best Private Island and Best Hideaway.
Denis Private Island is no stranger to the World Luxury Hotel Awards list, having won the Best Scenic Environment Award for two years running in 2014 and 2015, and Best Private Island in 2015 as well.
According to Group Branding, PR & Communication Manager Nicole St Ange, Denis may not t the typical mould of a luxury property, but that doesn’t stop guests from treating the island experience as a luxury in itself.
“We don’t associate Denis with being lavish and opulent, as the hotel primarily revolves around the island’s own natural qualities in a very simple and elegant way,” St Ange said. “It goes to show how in an increasingly connected world, true luxury is about unplugging from routine and being immersed in nature.”
The World Luxury Hotel Awards recognises properties for earning the respect of guests and industry players alike, by awarding hotels in over 60 categories, as voted for by the public.
Voting is now open and takes place online at
Winners are expected to be announced in September.
